Nyahururu Medical Training College (NMTC) is located at the boundary of Laikipia and Nyandarua Counties in Ziwani Estate, along Nyahururu –Nyeri Road. It started its operations in February 2016 as a centre for Continuing Professional Development for medical and health allied professionals. In April 2017, NMTC was approved for the training in Diploma and Certificate in Health Records and Information Technology (HRIT). This was a major milestone for the college as it put the college on its path to becoming a comprehensive medical training college.
Further in July 2018, the college was approved to train Clinical Officers by the Clinical Officers Council. The training leads to a Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
